As I’m sitting here trying to figure out how to encapsulate the awesomeness that is this movie into words, I find myself fighting the temptation to geek out and spoil every awesome moment of the movie. There are sooooooo many awesome moments too. Anyway the point is that Marvel’s The Avengers was everything I wanted it to be and a little more.
First off I want to go ahead and let you guys know that Joss Whedon, who co-wrote and directed this movie, is the f’n man! Seriously, all of the Whedon haters will be recanting their negative statements about him after seeing this flick. Avengers is so well written and directed that it’s hard to believe that this is only his second time directing a feature film. The only other movie that he’s directed was the Firefly feature film “Serenity”. Whedon proves that he’s adept at ensemble storytelling with how he moves the story forward and the obligatory fight scenes never feel inorganic.
In case you’ve been living under a rock. Marvel’s The Avengers is the culmination of four years worth of super-hero movies, starting with 2008’s Iron Man and ending with last year’s Captain
So the Avengers team consists of Captain
Now while there may be great characterization in this movie, everyone knows that you go see big blockbusters for the action and the non-stop explosions and this movie doesn’t skimp on that stuff at all. The action choreography in this movie is so dope. I spent the whole time in awe that I was watching team up scenarios and fight scenes that I’ve grown up reading about in comics, come to life in front of my eyes. It’s something that I never thought I’d see and I’m still a bit in shock at the fact that I have seen it. If action is what you’re looking for, The Avengers delivers in spades.
For really though, go see this damn movie. If you don’t like this movie then you probably have issues and I’ll pray for you, but I’m willing to say that 98% of the people that see this thing will either like it, love it, or completely loose their mind over how utterly awesome it is.
If you like the Dark Knight Rises and Legos, then this is the video for you.
I'm not gonna spend too much time talking about this because I'm already trying to control my expectations for this movie so as not to be dissapointed when it comes out in May. If you know anything about me though you know that anything that I'm crushing on this new Avengers trailer super hard. Like, the I kinda wish I could marry it type of crushing. So check out the trailer below and make sure to watch out for the super bad ass Hulk catching Iron Man scene.
OK this is gonna be a short blog but basically I wanna tell y'all about a song that changed my life. It's a little tune called "I Just Can't Wait To Be King." Without this song I wouldn't be who I am today. I remember being a little kid and having the sing-a-long version of this song and it was instantly my favorite thing ever! I learned how to sing from this, I learned how to appreciate lions from this, and I learned that there are limits to how many times you can play a VHS tape. Anyway suffice to say this is that jam and if you don't know this song you should make some serious life changes.
In case you didn't know, I'm a huge Robin Thicke fan. The dude could write a song about taking out the trash and I'd probably think it was the best thing I ever heard. But anyway back to the subject at hand. The following audio clip combines two things I think are awesome. Robin Thicke and Whitney Houston's song "Exhale." Enjoy!
